The Best Little Handbags for Fall 2021 (For Less Than $500!)

Updated: Oct 5, 2021

Everyone needs that special bag that you you know you can trust as you run out the door and throw in your phone, keys, wallet, and lippy gloss. As October in NYC begins a new season, I've been longing for a fresh handbag bestie... and I've found quite a few.

Keep scrolling to choose your new go-to way to add a twist to any outfit.

These luxury mini-bags are without a doubt cool, and because there are no overt label or logos, everyone will be asking you where you scored. To sweeten them up even more... their price tags are all below $500!

This Alexander Wang Scrunchie bag is somehow whimsical, classy, and punk at the same time. I love the different color ways and imagine wearing it kind of as a clutch with the scrunchie... well, on your wrist. Whether with jeans or a slip dress - this bag is ready for a SoHo moment.

Next up is the Neous Mini Jupiter Tote. The architectural silhouette will add visual interest to any fall look. I'm thinking a cashmere sweater, trench coat, tortoise sunnies, and these Helmut Lang jeans. Minimalist yet eye-catching, everyone you pass will ask, "Who is she?" (There are only 3 of these left in stock FYI so... move fast!)

This Marge Sherwood bag is actually the inspiration behind putting together this edit. Absolutely adorable and very very classy. You'll carry this with you all over town.

I've been eyeing KARA bags for a while now and am waiting for the moment they blow up. Undeniably cool-girl - I love the statement chain and boxy look. It's rare that statement hardware still looks elevated, and this bag has the perfect touch.

Low Classic's Flow Bag is one you'll wear for years to come. And it's recycled leather. I want to carry this with me to the MoMa, as it belongs in a museum next to other beautiful sculptures.

This Aesther Ekme bag is the most beautiful shade of Auburn - perfect to mimic the changing leaves. I love that the strap is adjustable, giving you options to elevate or wear more casually. The streamlined vintage shape will keep a crossbody length crisp. (It may just be me, but sometimes crossbody bags can feel a bit slouchy.)

Mega-cool vibes and unique hardware - this OSOI bag can be worn with or without the strap. The shape is like a cloud if they were dark and stormy and edgy. Maybe a mine craft cloud. Something just feels right about pairing this with your most floral dress and some black boots.

The last bag in my online cart is this covetable BY FAR Mini Rachel Bag. It's quickly moving from it-bag status to forever-bag status with it's 90s shape and interesting colors, textures, and chain detail. This bag would be so pretty with all fall dressing colors - olive, beige, black, rust, cream.
